Standout Student Awards
Project Manager that developed and executed the Standout Student Awards, a year-long cause marketing and revenue producing program that honored Western Washington students who “stood out” in the classroom, in school, and the community. Each month, from September to May, one student was selected among the hundreds of entries and received a $1,000 scholarship. At the conclusion of the program, one “Standout Student” was selected by Blue Ribbon Committee as the grand prize winner of a $10,000 educational scholarship.
Standout Student Awards
Promoted and produced, “Zero to Social in 90 Minutes,” a sold-out ticketed Social Media expert panel-discussion and luncheon recorded and shared via sponsor social media as video and audio podcasts.
ESPN X Games
Created, distributed and promoted original digital content for ESPN’s X GAMES (Summer and Winter) that featured on-air, on-line and on-site with X Game athlete interviews, live reports along with video and photos of event. Promotions included: on-site activations, photo op displays, live TV / radio broadcasts, on-air contests and fly-away sponsor sweepstakes.
Created a vitaminwater contest where one lucky winner became the “710 ESPN / vitaminwater Field Reporter for a Day @ Winter X Games” and interviewed J.J. Thomas, a vitaminwater and Winter X Games Athlete. The prize package included roundtrip airfare and hotel accommodations for two in Aspen, Colorado along with a podcast interview with vitaminwater’s J.J. Thomas — posted on 710 ESPN web site. In addition, the winner received vitaminwater product, an X Games Snowboard and 710 ESPN merchandise.
Developed and created first local on-line content for Summer and Winter X Games with along with behind-the-scenes and action photos, video and audio interviews for on-line and social media channels and X Sessions” live stage interviews with top X Game Athletes and Legends in front of audience inside “X Fest.”
Publicity
Maintained productive working realationships and secured extensive publicity exposure through print, radio, TV and digital media outlets. Secured and coordinated 100+ feature print stories with L.A. Times, Washington Post and USA Today; 1,000+ local, national and international radio broadcasts; 20+ ESPN TV/Radio simulcasts; and 500+ local and national television stories with programs and media outlets such as: 60 Minutes, The Today Show, 48 Hours, Entertainment Tonight, CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX and ESPN. At Warrior Foundation Freedom Station, generated 150+ TV and Radio stories that produced 2.0M+ impressions.
Cause Marketing
Project Manager for team effort of multiple cause-marketing programs that generated millions of dollars in donations and promotional exposure. Managed teams of staff and volunteers (100+) that revitalized communities. Raised $2.7M+ for Rady’s Children’s Hospital; $500K+ in-kind for painting 100+ homes and community centers and generated hundreds-of-thousands in sponsorship for “Paint Your Heart Out” in San Diego; $250K+ for V Foundation (Cancer Research) with ESPN in Los Angeles; and $500k+ in donations for foster care programs with “Tree House” in Seattle and $200K+ in ground-breaking funds for construction of a new Fisher House at McCord Air Force Base in Seattle.
Treehouse "Holiday Magic"
In 12 hours, Bonneville Seattle raised more than $509,000 to bring the spirit of the holidays to foster children in Washington. KIRO Radio talent and volunteers took donations over the phone for Treehouse — a non-profit that helps foster children with the basics to succeed in school and to provide the little extras that make childhood special.
Fisher House Seattle
Bonneville Seattle raised more than $200,000 for the construction of a new and larger Fisher House at Joint Base Lewis-McCord in Tacoma, Washington. The Fisher House constructs comfort homes to provoide free, temporary housing for the familes of service members receivng medical care at Veterans Affairs and military hospitals around the word
V Foundation
ESPN LA helped raise more that $250,000 for the V Foundation Auction, a non-profit research foundation designed to help find a cure for Cancer, through live on-air, on-line and on-site auctions. The V Foundation Cancer Reserach was founded in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jimmy Valvano, legendary North Carolina State Basketball Coach and ESPN Commentator.
Children's Hospital Radiothon
Launched and produced as Project Manager the first four years of the Annual Clear Channel Children’s Hospital Radiothon (now iHeart Media) with six radio stations which generated more $2.7M in donations along with sponsorships revenue for radio properties.
Paint Your Heart Out
Created and produced Annual “Paint Your Heart Out,” a cause marketing project where volunteers painted more that 100 non-profit agency buildings or home of economically disadvantaged in San Diego and generated hundreds-of-thousands in revenue during seven-year history as Project Manager.
